Wash & Wax FAQs
If you're interested in our Wash & Wax service in Perth WA, feel free to read the frequently asked questions below to get more info. You're also welcome to Request Your Quote or call us on 0401 877 158.
What kind of wax do you use?
You have two options: A polymer spray sealant (P&S Beadmaker) lasting up to 6 months, providing insane gloss and water beading. OR a traditional carnauba wax (Swissvax Shield)

The key difference between these two products is Beadmaker being a synthetic product which lasts longer and Shield being a natural-derived wax which provides unmatched depth and gloss - making it perfect for car shows and comps, or the enthusiast looking for envy-inducing shine.
Does this service remove scratches?

Short answer, no. However, traditional wax has the ability to "fill in" very, very minor scratches. This is how wax is able to create such a glossy appearance, by effectively "smoothing" the appearance of the paint so that it reflects light more evenly.

If you'd like to take care of your vehicle's scratches and improve the look of the paint, check out our Stage 1 Paint Polishing and Stage 2 Paint Correction services.
Can you come to me for this service?

Yes! We have a mobile van with all the tools and products needed. We just need access to power and water for this service.

We operate in Rockingham, Baldivis, Cockburn, Mandurah, Fremantle, Melville and many of Perth's suburbs.
Do you use a clay bar?

Yep. We use a clay bar after washing the vehicle and applying a fallout remover (AKA iron remover).

The clay bar cleans up any final stuck-on contamination, leaving your paint smooth and totally clean for the wax or sealant to adhere to.

In some cases where the paint is very contaminated, we will need to use a coarse clay bar, which will likely leave "marring" on the paint. This marring is a type of defect which needs to be polished out.
What's the difference between the Premium Wash and the Wash & Wax?

Our Premium Wash is a maintenance-style wash which is fairly basic in comparison to the Wash & Wax.

The Wash & Wax aims to remove built-up dirt and grime and create a "clean as possible" paint surface for the wax to adhere to. Once this step is done, we can maintain it through our Premium Wash service.

What are the benefits of exterior car detailing?

Exterior car detailing in Perth, WA is absolutely crucial to stay on top of, due to our severe heat and sun exposure. We also experience wet and windy winter months, meaning our cars take a beating all year round.

If you don't properly care for your car, the paint will deteriorate at a much faster rate than usual and well as exterior plastics and rubbers. Keeping your car clean and protected will prolong the life of these components and simply make ownership much more enjoyable!
How long does the wax last?

P&S Beadmaker can last up to 6 months when the vehicle is kept in a garage and washed regularly as needed (every 1-3 weeks depending on usage).

Swissvax Shield can last up to 3 months under the same condition. The effects of the wax will be at their peak right after application and slowly fade over time. This is why they're ideal for car shows, competitions or pre-sale details.
How long will this service take?

Wash & Wax usually takes between 2-4 hours depending on the size and condition of the vehicle, be it a hatchback, wagon or full sized truck.
What if my paint is dull or faded?

A wash & wax will not fix dull or faded paint. When in this condition, paint must be polished to remove dullness and improve clarity and gloss.

Sometimes when paint is faded or dull, it is due to the clear coat layer of your paint being completely degenerated. This unfortunately means polishing won't fix it and the panel(s) will need to be repainted. You are welcome to send us images to our email and we will help as best we can.
What if my car is brand new?

More often than not, we find brand new cars have some level of contamination that should be removed before waxing or ideally, ceramic coating.
So yes, a Wash & Wax is still a good option if your car is new. It will give your car the best chance at being protected from day one of ownership, though we would recommend a ceramic coating over a wax for new cars to really lock in the showroom paint.
